Here are some bollard/light combinations at the of the Burchfield Penney Art Center on the campus of Buffalo State College.
Welcome to my Bollards of Buffalo Blog. Bollards come in many shapes and sizes and are used in many different locations to control the flow of traffic, protect buildings and other structures, they are also used in harbors to tie up marine vessels. I will be posting on a regular basis but not every day. I will be searching out all areas of Buffalo in the coming days. I will also post photos that are not Bollards but will be historic or interesting. I hope you will enjoy the Blog.

No Bollards Just a Boat today.
This is a former Coast Guard Tug. The Apalachee was launched in 1943 as a port security vessel for the Port of Baltimore. It served in various ports through the years. It was destined to be put out of service and become part of a marine museum in Erie PA until financing fell through. This is docked at the Erie Basin in Buffalo, probably doing some ice ice breaking. It is a large tug at 110 ft.

Spring training is starting so here is baseball related post. This is a very nice statue of former Mayor of Buffalo James Griffin. He was responsible for getting the ball park built downtown. This statue was erected last summer at the corner of Washington and Swan outside of Coca Cola Field. It's a nice replica of him throwing out the first pitch at a ballgame.
