I've had this pic for a while so I thought I'd post it to clean up my folder a little.



The statue of Samuel Manning Welch is located in Niagara Square in Buffalo, NY. It is just north of City Hall on a small triangular patch of land bordered by Niagara St, South Elmwood Ave. and Jerge Dr. This statue was erected by his comrades and friends to honor is life and service.
Born 1851, Died 1919.
Served in the National Guard of New York 1887-1911.
Colonel, 65th Infantry 1898 in the Spanish American War.
Brigadier General 4th Brigade National Guard of NY 1911-1915.
