Welcome to my Bollards of Buffalo Blog. Bollards come in many shapes and sizes and are used in many different locations to control the flow of traffic, protect buildings and other structures, they are also used in harbors to tie up marine vessels. I will be posting on a regular basis but not every day. I will be searching out all areas of Buffalo in the coming days. I will also post photos that are not Bollards but will be historic or interesting. I hope you will enjoy the Blog.

Here are two kinds of different ways of traffic control. The top photo is in the plaza behind the First Niagara Center behind the parking garage. The rocks placed here prevent cars from driving through the gate from the garage into the plaza. The second are just planters to prevent anyone from ramming the doors, more of a security measure than a traffic control device.
