Here are some pictures I took on a little trip to Squaw Island last week.



This bollard is huge. I suspect it was part of the gate at one time.


This was also a gate bollard further out on the Island at the entrance to the Bird Island Pier.



A small marine bollard along the seawall. Someone scratched the "S" from the word swift on the sign. The current here is unbelievably fast. Many a suicide has taken place in this stretch of the Niagara River. 




These two pictures are on the Black Rock Canal side of the Island. An old marine bollard and some old disused steps leading down to the canal.






Here are a couple of bollards that stop people from driving straight into a park area from the bridge crossing. A nice plaque indicating this was point in the river where former slaves could cross over to Canada.
